Looks too round, file marks on edgde? and do I see remains of casting ridge above fingertips? Suspect it is.

I am leaning towards genuine, probably cleaned. Mughal rupees were generally fairly well made, and the technology certainly existed in the 1700s to make very even, round flans. Try reaching out to drnsreedhar who frequents the World Coins section; he could probably give a better opinion.

I wouldn't gauruntee it... first thing I thought was file marks... then I thought "is it my imagination or is there a grain to the high parts of the design as if its been rubbed on sandpaper?

I guess I always start on the basis "its fake till it proves itself the other way"
