Just FYI, I have a carousel to turn coins for imaging so I don't have to adjust my lights. Images are of the same coin, rotated and adjusted sometimes for exposure to bring out issues. I'm hesitant to even show this coin due to the apparent cleaning that was inflicted upon it. Give your honest grade, I can handle it

It's improperly cleaned but doesn't look too hairlined up and still has decent eye appeal. It's well struck as Half Dimes go and has excellent remaining detail on the devices. AU details or XF worst case. I can't see it straight grading.

I agree with the AU, details, cleaned, but I still like this little beauty. Nice addition to any collection.

probably looks better in hand as its not blown up. AU58 details but still a nice piece

It's definitely a high end example. Many of these are hard to grade due to the variances of strike that is year-specific. I would venture to say this is a cleaned MS coin. I don't think it's AU.

Thanks for the grades. Going to start posting close-up, side angle photos on the higher end coins to help with grading. Close-ups of the high points should help with determining whether a coin has been circulated or not.

It appears the volume of disturbances on this coin's surfaces were not entirely the result of cleaning. As such I'd call it AU details. These coins did circulate with some regularity in the 19th century.
