Hi
I bought a big quantity of canadians coins and this Edward VII coin appeared to me, at first sight it seemed highly circulated but by looking closely there was look like issued like that, somebody can inform me about this unusually coin please ?
weight 5.22 grams

I am not on to understand well. Do you believe that this coin was sanded to remove the obverse of the coin ? I saw some rust trace on this side too. like circulated. Your comment is appreciated !!

I have seen this before.
Someone will grind one side down
and try to sell it as an error coin.
The weight should be 5.67g, not 5.22g.

The reverse side may have been ground down in preparation to be engraved with initials - as a "love token" as was popular 100+ years ago.

These coins are from a game called shuffleboard, homemade edition, which is called shuffpenny. My grandfather had a full set of these coins for his game that he made. Smooth on one side so it will glide down the game table with a slight bit of sawdust on the table top.
