@arkie, I think that this coin goes to the spirit of your new contest. Here is a 1913S Barber quarter that is entombed in a slab and graded as G-4. The NGC price guide for a non-damaged G-4 is $1600. Thanks to that pesky obv punch in the center, I paid a little over $200 back when I was actively collecting these things.

This is about all I can come up with: It used to be worth 5 cents... ...except the other side looks like this: What's funny is that it may actually be worth more now as a novelty. This probably isn't what you had in mind, Arkie, but it's all I got for mismatched sides.

Interesting idea for the round. I do not really have anything that qualifies. I will enjoy the round for the sidelines.

Hmm. My 1st thought on this was to go for a Morgan dollar, but most of mine are MS and wouldn't qualify. I ended up going to the world collection instead and came up with this. Not sure what it grades, but in MS63 it is a $480 coin according to NGC price guides. Any yes I got the KM# wrong. It is actually KM# 10.1

Well, this challenge was a dumpster fire. I will shut it down now.
Of the two responsive submissions, Finn says that the coin would be worth $280-2250; is now worth less than $100. Spence says he paid a little over $200 for a coin that would retail for $1600 if not defaced.
Using the center of Finn's value range ($1250), it appears Spence's coin lost more value from the damage. I declare Spence the winner. Maybe I should stop competing.

Quote: this challenge was a dumpster fire. Well, I think that there just aren't very many coins in the collections among the 10 or so regular players of this game that happen to have a coin that is primarily damaged only on one side and has certain valuations with and without that damage. As far as I know, there are only one or two similarly defaced coins in my collection. I'll post my contest tomorrow.

I don't win too many of these, but it sure is so much fun to participate. Special thanks to @finn for conceiving of this thread! I hope you like this new rendition of the game that I have cooked up for you. In my mind, it is super-simple, but I'm sure that there will be some stuff that I didn't consider at first so will need to make some additional rules as we go along and y'all start asking questions. Anyway, post your coin or token that has the most holes in it. You get one point per hole; however, the holes must not be simply PMD. Rather, they must be part of the design as the piece left the dies or else part of its expected use. All holes must be visible to the naked eye. I plan to end this game late Thursday night. Here is my Lewiston-Auburn (Maine) Bus token that has two cut-outs and would therefore be worth two points. Got one of the bajillions of cast Cash from China, Japan, or Korea? That's good for a point. Got a NH turnpike token with that odd letter B punchout? That's good for a point. Got an old state tax token that has been cancelled by piercing a hole in the center? That't good for a point. Got a gold piece that someone turned into jewelry by braising a loop on the top? Nix! Got a Zincoln that has rotted to the point where you can see through poor Abe's head? Zip! Found a metal button with your metal detector? Diddly! Got a lead seal or Chinese charm? Bupkis! Got a cent that someone nailed to their door back in the Depression for good luck? One bonus point for the first person who knows the correct response *and* responds in this thread along with their token or coin...

I know I've got nothing more than 1 hole. Here's a coin from Japan: Edit: I was curious what's out there and did some Googling. This could make for an interesting round!
