I've found an intact magician's nickel and half of one while roll hunting. I'll have to see if I can get pics of them.

Spruett, only 4 points, but it never hurts to try for the extra point even it is rather dubious.

It was worth a shot. I'm surprised no one has posted a complete coin box yet.

There were not many players this round. Perhaps all the Americans were too busy with preparing for Thanksgiving! I was sure that someone else had a complete box, but I guess not.
Here is the tally:
1. Mysilveryears, 4 points 2. Spruett001, 4 points 3. Bd251, 1 point 4. Casualcoincollector, 1 point
So, mysilveryears is the winner of this round.

Congrats!! Sorry I have been out this round... report card writing time .. and I've started coaching again... so my spare time is quite a bit limited now

Well howzabout zat. Obscure piece of junk from my discards box actually comes out on top. Maybe spruett001 should have won because he posted two of those.. ? It's getting harder to think of a gimmick for this challenge, so let's try this: To celebrate my birthday coming up next week, everyone gets to post a coin from my birth year. Even jbuck will have something to show for this round. But I don't want to see just any old hungry dog of a worn out copper that has circled the neighborhood a few too many times. Show the most spectacular coin you own. No restriction as to denomination or country of origin; just that the coin must be clearly dated from my birth year, and you have to say why you think it is special. Then, when everyone has had a chance to offer up their entries (and I would suggest extending the current contest to end Sunday night to allow for holiday obligations, black Friday madness, or stuck in I-95 traffic ), I will put up a poll to make it a people's choice. Sure, you can each vote for your own entry, but if only one coin gets two votes and all the rest, one apiece, everyone will know what's up. So here is the challenge coin. It's the most spectacular example of this common, typically well worn wartime 'V' nickel I have run across. Photos do not do it justice, as the saying goes. OK, let's see yours

This was a gift from CCF member dave700x. It is also one of my best looking Wheaties I have A LOT of world coins from 1944, but like I said this one was a gift from a friend and that makes it special to me.

Interesting idea. A couple come to mind but, I'll have to dig a little more to make sure I post the best. Quote: Maybe spruett001 should have won because he posted two of those.. ? You beat me to the punch fair and square!

(1944) KT11 5 Fen China-Manchoukuo Y-A13a Red Fiber PCGS MS 63 This is my 1944 Red Fiber 5 fen and I think that this one is special since it is one of the few circulating nonmetallic coins used throughout history.
