Prices vary from outlets controlled by McDonalds New Zealand, one owned by independent franchisees and the "Airport outlets" at which extra costs and taxes are whacked on. All but McDonalds controlled ones charge what they want. The McDonalds controlled charge $9.90 or $10.20 for the combo, Independents between $10.50 and $11.30 (Mine charges $10.70) and the Airport ones have been known to charge over $12. $10.70 equates to 6.40 American. The outlets charge that for a Big Mac, Medium Fries and Soft drink (Coffee, shakes or McFlurries cost more). In 2010 it was $8 and between 1989 and 2002 it was $5 - $6 so its gone up rapidly.
