Yes I did--I find Ostrogoth coins to be kinda pricey, but I have also found that there are relatively few coins of the 6th and 7th Centuries even in an expanded price range.

Thanks, though I was asking Finn235

In my experience, available coins of the 6th and (to a lesser extent) 7th centuries are a lot of Byzantine (and occasional Arab-Byzantine) bronzes in assorted size and price range (all the way down to $2-3 per coin, in corresponding quality) - and not much else.
A bigger problem is the 8th and 9th centuries, where the Byzantines dry up, and the non-Byzantines don't become much more common. The 8th century was a long-running gap in my One From Each Century (and the 9th would've been one too if I didn't happen to find an appropriate Cherson coin).

I do have a few dated coins of Justinian, but I didn't think I had one as early as year 15 or 16, and I forgot about the VOT piece until Finn posted one. I think technically an undated coin of Justinian would have just barely qualified, though.

Ok good to know @j1m. In my collection, the majority of the 8th and 9th Century coins are Dirhams of the Umayyad and Abbasid Caliphates. I used to pick them up for under $20 and occasionally under $15.

I also see those occasionally; the problem is that, as far as I'm concerned, anything above roughly $15 is an extravagant price to pay for a single coin unless it's something really rare (or gold, I suppose).

...I actually got lucky and bought a dirham that I believe to be 8th century for about $10 once; I then proceeded to misplace it, and (as I only discovered months later) accidentally leave it in contact with an abandoned piece of apple, which resulted in an ugly spot of gray tarnish.
(I proceeded to damage it further by trying to rub the tarnish off with toilet paper. I wish that was a joke.)

For a while my only photos of it were from before the apple tarnish, which meant that I was quite uncomfortable posting them on CCF when I knew that the coin looked much uglier now.
IIRC, I've taken more recent photos since, though I don't recall where they are either.

Thanks Spence!

Short on time, so a nice and simple one that should be inclusive.

Post your coin with the most abstract or otherwise least photo-realistic depiction of a human. Winner will be decided by popular vote Monday night.

That octopus man is going to be hard to beat @arkie! I wish I had thought of that.

Here is a 13th Century Pfennig from the German Free City of Regensburg that will server as my coin for this challenge. That is the Duke with his sword and scepter.

@keith, the last coin that @arkie posted is from Chola Dynasty in India. As I recall, the image is of a king seated on a throne, but due to the minimalistic die engraving, the throne looks a bit like another pair of legs. Here is a numista link to a similar coin.

Also, if you use the keywords OCTOPUS MAN, you will see multiple CCF threads with examples.

The first is a 2012 Triathlon Olympic 50 pence
I think the second is Constantius II, with the reverse reading "FEL TEMP-REPARATIO". There is a mint mark. below the murder, I think it is SMTS.
I believe the third is a Grosso from Venice under Antonio Venier.
