I don't think mine will win, but this token has a fairly crude depiction of the (Future) King George V as a chinless wonder.

1901 Copper Royal Visit Token - New Zealand.

The portrait is naive and done locally, the Queen does not look like Queen Mary and both appear very old for a couple in their mid 30s.

Hardly a stick figure or a figurative depiction of some thought, but in my opinion unintentionally funny. I am wondering what the King thought of it, as this token was given free to all the school children in New Zealand (Although in 1901 we had a population of 775,000 and only 300,000 of them were handed out).

Originally I was going to show a 4th century Roman copper with some ancient God as a silhouette - but I have more respect for that era and those Gods than that.

Spence I am voting for your coin - he looks like he is trapped and can't get out!

I was going to do a Roman copper depiction of either Diana or Hermes, but decided laughing at an ancient God was not the way to go.

...Darn. Defeated yet again by my collection being such a sheer mess that I hardly ever manage to find what I want in it.

(For the record, I wanted to post my example of this type. Hard to get more abstract than that.)

I'm on team @arkie for the octopus man for this challenge.

My pfennig isn't in numista, although this coin was minted contemporaneously:

The attribution for mine is Metcalf 43 and here is a link to a similar coin on dne coins:

Okay, I guess it's Arkie then. I don't think your vote counts, j1m, because Finn already handed over the reins.

I will retroactively vote for Arkie just so we can say that J1M's vote was counted.

Post your most recent crown -- (1) at least .7 oz of silver; (2) at least 80% silver; but (3) not higher than 95% silver. Sorry jbuck -- no Ikes this time.

And no recent US Commemorative dollars as they went from 90% to 99.9% Silver a couple years ago.

Ok hmm I'll need to research silver alloys for the few crown-sized coins I've got. Fortunately I'm more of a small change collector.
