I doubt that is the reason, no would it have anything to do with not being in the United States.

JBuck's picture loads for me on my phone but not on my laptop, despite both using the exact same WiFi network. I suspect this might be a weird HTTPS reaction.

The image is hosted on the CCF gallery server and not on the CCF forum server. They are two different servers in completely different data centers. The gallery server has been know to be a pain in the neck. I will upload to CCF forum in a bit...

Okay accepted (To be honest I was hoping a non US coin contest for a change, this board is far too Amerocentric and I am trying to make it more "internationale") - 1 entry so far come on people. You mean the gallery where I tried to start my own and it claimed I did not have an account, and I can't be bothered with all the rigamarole with ANOTHER password to remember. Can't we link the two or is this like 1950s red tape bureaucracy here

For what it's worth, I expected Spence to win handily, but I also thought bd251's coin was XF. Sadly, I can't really participate; most of my collection is undated and/or under VF (or, at least, not as nice as bd251's coin), and most of the rest is post-1960 and/or doesn't feature birds. I think there are some coins that I might be able to post. I'll have to check. ...OK, this should qualify. Hopefully. Germany, 500 mark, 1923-A. Not actually sure if this is VF, but the type barely circulated due to sheer hyperinflation, so there's no reason for it to be any lower.

Next time, award bonus points for non-American coins. If you want to amend the rules now, I will not complain! That be the one. Quote: Can't we link the two or is this like 1950s red tape bureaucracy here Like I said, they are completely different servers in completely different data centers running completely different software... etc... Not going to happen. More than likely the CCF Gallery will go away at some point... Probably when Bobby finds a way to get images copied and linked to the correct users and has a way to make sure the embedded gallery links in every message ever posted are not broken...

Excluding the current contest 21 or the last 30 coins used as entries or contest examples have been from countries other than the United states.

Quote: coin must have a readable date in Western or Arabic script @pt, can you clarify whether Roman numerals are acceptable for the date? Thx.

Roman Numerals acceptable?Yes as long as the Roman Numerals are all together in one date. If they are buried in some long winded text like some 17th century thalers are, it's not as it is too hard to work out the date. Keith12 - your coin would have 350 points at least and win comfortably. 331 points for date (1629 is very clear and 1960 - 1629 = 331) 5 for EF 4 for the birds (10) circulation, not sure if it did, but will give you the benefit of the doubt. Good work and what a great coin! Easily wins. Will leave open for a few more hours. I apologise I have been slow here, but did work all day yesterday in our National election and did a 16 hour shift as a voting place manager so was too tired to come here until now. bd 251 - Your penny in EF condition would look like this As you can see, your coin falls way south of the mark.
