One of the challenges to running a global website is dealing with the difference in time zones. @pt, while you waited multiple hours between answering my question and closing this challenge, those hours corresponded to between 11 pm and 2:30 am for me.

It definitely isn't a big deal that I missed out on this round and I will be glad to see what @k12 will cook up for us next. While we wait, here is the coin I was planning to post if Roman numeral dates were acceptable (1420 AD dated Groschen from the German City state of Aachen):

Newsflash I don't live in America and the world has other countries and is round so we have timezones!

Well I would blame the site, most forum boards have an adjustable clock to your timezone. I live in New Zealand and we are on GMT + 13 here, so my closing time was 7pm and my rash of update posts was around 2 - 3pm on Sunday afternoon.

I also work weird hours, so you have to work around me. How am I supposed to know what time it is in America, its a big country with at least 4 timezones during your summertime.

Coin is nice, but I can't see a date at all and I would insist you point it out. Also medieval lettering is hard to read and numbers like the 4 and 7 looked different until about 1550. It was also too worn.

Also what part of "I worked all day Saturday, did you guys not get" I am not just here to sit around here waiting for you to ask me questions. I use a desktop computer and don't have one of those modern computer phone things.

I think the Forum time is E.S.T. It's up in the top left corner. But I don't know what your desktop shows

I'm thinking how I want to score the next round

The good thing about timezones is they make it easy to figure out what time it else where. For example it is currently 8:45 am on the 19th of October in New Zealand. That is if you care what time it is elsewhere.

Ok Spence's coin got me thinking.

I think Spence's coin had Saint Charlemagne on it. Correct me if I'm wrong. Would not be the first time.

There are a lot of coins out there with religious figures on them.

So as someone said before, Keep It Simple Stupid (may have been @bd251)

This will be a voting round. Because I think people see they have no chance to win if they see a coin they beat, So they don't post

Post your coin with religious figures on them

This coin Kingdom of Serbia 1278-82 Denar
Obverse (left) King Stefan (right) Saint Stephen
Reverse, Christ

zzzzz - Think I will sit this one out.

I am agnostic and socialist so thus do not venerate or support saintism.

As for time, I did not know I had signed up to be on call for whenever people want to ask me questions about a challenge. I really consider my free time my own and if I decide to grace this site with my presence I will.

I know it's not a "coin" but it's the best I can do without too much digging.

I'll go for something a bit more unusual:

Umayyad Caliphate, 'abd al-Malik ibn Marwan
"Standing caliph" fals, minted 690s

Yet-Another-Forum-Game---Numismatic-Go-Fish!

Obv: Caliph al-Malik standing facing, hand on sword, Kalima in Arabic around (There is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is his Prophet)
Rev: Cancelled cross on steps, Kalima around

This was the earliest truly Islamic coin, as for the 40 years between the fall of the Sassanian empire and the first issuance of these coins, the Rashidun and Ukayyad caliphs had issued only copper imitations of Byzantine coins, and silver imitations of Sassanian coins. This was a prototype, vaguely based on contemporary Byzantine coinage, but erasing all evidence of Christian symbolism and replacing the Byzantine emperor with the Caliph. It was minted for about 6 years, until the Islamic elders decreed it impermissible to depict any human on coinage, and switched to the iconoclastic text-only design:

@finn, that is going to be really tough to beat, but here is my attempt. Here is a mid-4th Century Nummus of Constantine I (The Great). On the rev is Sol, along with SOLI INVICOTO COMITI, "to the unconquerable Sun-god".
