Just FYI - 1964 nickels (and I think dimes and quarters as well) were made for 2 years until 1966  |

I also considered the bicentennial quarters and half dollars (not the Ikes, as the year can be determined by the reverse variety). But, the 1914-D. |

Alrighty. With one day having passed, we have five entries so far. Although I think I should have clarified my counting method with the challenge coin's years. I just went 1592 minus 1568 to get 24 years. Using that type of calculation, the first year was not counted. The significance of that changes the date-ranges calculated by pepactonius and bd251 (864 minus 840 is 24; 1106 minus 1102 is 4). Rather than altering the rules/points, I will just be calculating all entries that way. The rankings so far:Three points:1) pepactonius: a 24 year range. Two points:2) Crazyb0: a 21 year range (and a 3 year difference). 3) Arkie: an 18 year range (and a 6 year difference). 4) bd251: a 4 year range (and a 20 year difference). One point:5) jbuck: 1 year. It looks like the only thing that will be able to beat pepactonius's coin is an exact match, but we still have two days left, so keep posting your coins! |

This is just for fun, but I don't see a rule that says it doesn't count!  This is a copper LMC, so using Joseph's method, I can definitively narrow this down to a 23-year range (1982-1959=23) In Memory of Crazyb0 12-26-1951 to 7-27-2020

Not really tho, I'm no expert on the master dies used, but there were MAJOR noticeable differences that would narrow down to specific times. That's how I know my two tailed sandwich Memorial is pre -1974!

Eye and ear internal design seem more to 59-67. 1968/69 was a major die reconfiguration so figure that as a center point. Master dies were used from year to year, a mix and match proposition. I know there's a listing about all the differences.
