  Mexico 5000 peso and mexico 5 centavo. Both before the currency reform. So 100,000 to 1. Different other side but the same mint, Mexico City. Same material, Copper-nickel. So 9 points, I think Edited by oriole

Hello again, I have these two coins for my entry. Hopefully I understand the criteria correctly (apparently I didnt  * ) with this entry. If the points are decided by weight then the ratio is 1:27. Denomination ratio 1:25*. If I round up for both it would be 1:30? 1938 Netherlands 10 cents Diameter: 15mm Weight: 1.4g .640 Silver* 1939 Netherlands 2 1/2 G Diameter: 38mm Weight: 25g .720 Silver*   *Edit- Looking at the point criteria more closely I realize that diameter is null and void for this challenge. Also added the composition and fineness should there be a tie. Sorry, I should have looked more closely at point break down, I was excited this challenge that I may have had a half decent entry. Darn - my Numista collection showed that I had a perfect pair, but I have a very high suspicion of where the coins are... a former album page that I entered into Numista in early 2017, and misplaced shortly after.
Seriously considering just going to a coin shop on Sunday morning and buying new examples of those. They're both common cheap types, so they shouldn't be worth much (in fact, that's why I think I know where they were - I assembled that album page back in 2010, and the coins in question are too common for me to have bothered with them later).

I was sorting some coins last night and realized that I actually have a 1:100 of the same material, same mint, one side match  But then I realized that IF we are allowed to use a monarch's portrait as a design match, then this is easy to do for a 1:240 ratio matching one side. Although, I'm not sure that is what @Finn235 intended.   @mysilveryears I like the look of that 8R with all the chop marks  |

I found a much larger match than the coins I last posted! Not sure how I missed them... 5 colones from Costa Rica, 2008:  500 colones from Costa Rica, 2007:  The designs on both coins are the same, save the denomination, and it would be a 1:100 ratio. I have a lot of modern Costa Rican coins, but all of my 5 colones are from 2008, and all of my 500 colones are... not. I do have a 1 colon piece, but one side is slightly different, and it has apparently been demonetized. So I will stick with the 5 and 500 ones.  |
