After finding the die crack yesterday I did the obvious and start going through all of my half dollars again and come across 2 this is the first. I think this might be rim finning. It also has some nice MD on the reverse. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Reverse is MD and the obverse looks like a minor MAD as opposed to finned rim,IMHO.

with John - I have found a few of the LC's and Dimes with rim finning issues - this Half (though I can't come up with the proper terminology) doesn't look like the same to me :)

w/John1, slight MAD and its also late stage die wear, metal flow shoves the details outward(closer to rim). They have to trim the outside of the die down to correct circumference as well as polishing etc, wonder if this may not have some kind of affect to produce this extra ring, don't know but do seem to notice on LDS MAD's for some reason?
