Hi folks
I'm pretty new to the hobby. I live in Scotland and looking for recommendations on a TPG. I would probably only send a handful of coins out a year. Do any other UK residents have any experiences (good or bad)? Not sure where to begin. Would the tax man here try to charge me duty on a coin coming back from the US?
Thanks

Cant answer your question, but I visit Scotland a lot, about 8 times in the last 10 years... been all over, but prefer Edinburgh. Almost to the point now that I can understand what people are saying in the pubs, except in Glasgow where the accents get pretty heavy the more they drink, but I'm getting there. Some of the friendliest people on the planet.

PCGS has an office in Paris, that will be the closest one to you and probably help you avoid the taxes of using one of the US offices though I am not entirely sure how EU taxes work country to country.

Mtuma3, I live in Glasgow & you're right, they are hard to understand (especially when the booze starts flowing). I didn't have a clue what people were saying when I first got here. I've only been to Edinburgh a few times. It's nice but they sometimes live up to their snobby reputation.

basebal21, while we're still in the EU, duty doesn't apply. Who knows what'll happen in a couple years when we get out. PCGS out of Paris is an option then. Shipping to Paris is probably cheaper than US. I'm curious what experiences other have had

Nothing to do with your question; other have adequately answered it.
But have/had relatives (mother's side of the family) way up in Helmsdale.
Went by it once but was on a tour and we didn't stop.

The coins will be safe at PCGS in Paris, and their grading is widely accepted (although NGC tends to be slightly preferred for non-US coins) The only real question is the shipping. How safe are the mails? What are your insurance options? Will they cover you shipping out of the country? (Probably for right now, after you are out of the EU who knows.)
