20 Star Note - Coin Community Forum

Dhughesz28 Valued Member United States 105 Posts	Posted 04/30/2008 1:44 pm Hi all, I got a $20 star note in some change at target the other day. I forget the date series, but its a newer design with the colored background and the shiny 20 in the corner. It is a star note, as instead of having a letter at the end of the sirial number it has a tiny star. It is in circulated condition with the typical fold down the middle. I know nothing about the collectability of these star notes as I am a coin guy. I was wondering, do I keep it or spend it? Thanks Report this Post to the Staff

photoeric21 Valued Member United States 206 Posts	Posted 04/30/2008 3:59 pm I keep every star note I find except 50s. ( I have never found a 100 dollar star note) It's hard.. Right now I have four 20 dollar star notes. None of them have interesting serial numbers, and all are new design 20s. I think I'll cap my 20 dollar star notes at four unless something really cool comes along. Report this Post to the Staff

luckyrollers Valued Member United States 447 Posts	Posted 05/01/2008 10:08 am I would keep it if I can afford to hold on to the $20. Many people can't bc its considered a high dedomination. I focus on $1, $2, $5, and $10 stars bc it alittle more affordable. I have close to 250 $1 star notes that are found in circulation. The mint of it ranges from good to AU.
