I tried finding it on numista but it was not on there. It is 21mm in diameter and looks like it is plated with something since it looks like brass on places there is wear. Thanks for your help. ;)

It's what is known as an Imitation Ottoman. Use the search window, top left hand of this page, to find out more.

Thank you for your help. Why were these minted? Should I throw it away since it is probably worthless?

Never seen one like it before. "Imitation Ottoman" coins are usually little brass "coins" that come on belly dancer costumes. They are usually gold colored, holed (to attach to the costume) and have pseudo-Arabic (wiggly lines) or literate but rambling nonsensical legends.

This one does look Arabic on one side, but the reverse is an invented pseudo-legend. It almost looks like Assamese or another obscure early modern Indian script.

It *is* a fantasy to be sure, but it can be a fun puzzle to try to figure out.

It would be neat to get a translation if someone knows what it says.

I looked online for pictures of other imitation ottoman coins and didn't find anything like it.

It looks more like an imitation of an Algerian coin to me. Just typing in "Algeria tokens" in Google Images brought an picture of a similar looking token (that was posted on CCF) which can be found here. Now, yours has the flower-thing around the legend in the first picture, and the other side has very sharp and angular letters, making me think it would be some sort of modern thing.

EDIT: type in "Algerian Budju imitation" in Google Images to see some examples of your token. Maybe one of the links attached to the pictures will bring some helpful information, but I am in a hurry right now, and do not have time to read them. Hopefully at least one will help.

It's possibly a French propaganda medal, there's a link to a Stacks Bowers auction on this page but my phone wont fetch it. Still in the same category as belly money though.http://www.worldofcoins.eu/forum/in...ml#msg232286

I found this larger coin that looks like it. It is an Alerian Budjus.

Yes, but yours is not a budju. It is looking more and more likely that is partially copied from the French Abd Qdir victory medals with a blundered reverse. Even on the link you shared, a noted expert in the field (Afrasi) is calling it belly money.
