Quote: I don't normally go in for the gimmicky "low mintage" foreign coins (a.k.a. "coins with crap on them"), but there were a few that I just couldn't resist. I loved seeing those oddballs, barryg.

Remember that one thread about how I accidentally convinced a dealer that a rare silver coin was aluminium? When I returned to that dealer to explain my mistake, he said that it wasn't a problem (more details in that thread, IIRC), and I immediately proceeded to buy this little quarter for about $3 (dealer's price, despite my protests that it sounded a bit low). 1901-O Barber quarter, FR-AG details (slightly damaged, possibly also cleaned). Mintage is 1,612,000 - not unusually low for the series, apparently, but still a respectable semi-key. I had to take it out of my 7070 album to take those photos, incidentally

My lowest mintage Barber quarter is this 1913-S (40,000). Yes, the center punch on the obv is a wicked bummer.
