I really would love to see the actual title of the post entitle what coin it is. Not just the year! I personally have been renamed multiple times because I used the word penny,or Jefferson. But here as of late all we get is the date. Why are the mods not renaming these very vague threads? Just a date and a coin would be nice!

Can you provide an example of a thread please?

I really have no clue what you are referring to. I see a title, I open the title, I read and decide on contributing or not.
What specifically are you referring to?

I just took this screenshot. 11 visible threads under "US Modern Variety and Error Coins" -- 5 have only the year with no hint of the denomination. I feel your pain.

Yeah I have to agree , a lot of titles are not clear enough to know what coin the poster is talking about . ( example: 1955-s PMD ? All opinions greatly appreciated ) . What denomination are they talking about ?

Lol that's me sorry. I was able to edit my other posts but it won't let me edit this one. Sorry for the confusion and I will make sure to add the denomination in the future!

Yep, there are over 1,000 posts per day usually, we can't see them all.

We absolutely do change them as we see them or they are reported.

Not to retaliate, I think it's annoying too, but what does it really cost you? Click a thread: >1 second. think to yourself, "Whoops, I don't know anything about this series! Better click away!" : <0.1 seconds. Click the back arrow on your browser: <1 second. Total time wasted: <2.1 seconds.
Time taken for staff to find and edit a post? >5 seconds. Don't get me wrong, it IS annoying, but I simply don't think it's worth the effort of any of us.

It's 100% worth the effort because the topic title is the single most important thing on the page for search engines. The better the titles the better the chances people will find it to bring in new members.

I didn't mean for all the titles to be renamed. Just from here on out "we" members should ask the thread starter to rename their thread. I was just confused as to why my titles were renamed when I used penny,or Jefferson and these new threads have zero on what coin it is.

Well my Two Cents - 1. Even if it waste the previously estimated 2.1 seconds, those seconds add up. Not to mention that the estimation lacks the time to read the first few sentences of the post to understand what it's about. New estimation? I'm guessing 5 seconds which is a whole 'nother ballgame. That really adds up. It's not a big waste of time, but it's enough of an inconvenience to bother anyone at least once and at least moderately-which isn't cool. 2. Bobby is correct in stating that correct titles helps SEO (search engine optimization) on CCF's part. This hurts not only all of us from gaining additional users, possible great coin minds, and content from reaching us. Compacting this problem is the hurt of the actual site owners, because what hurts us equally hurts site revenue. Again, it's not 'much' but it should be worked on.

Honestly, it just doesn't bother me. If I open a topic that I'm not familiar with, it increases the chance that ill learn something new.
