So, I suppose the title is pretty self explanatory. I set my moms phone (has better resolution than my tablet) on a small cardboard box, then shone a lamp on it all at took some pictures.

(What do you think? I think I did a better job on the reverse pic.)

What type of phone? Modern day iPhones and Samsungs are like mini DSLRs. They can produce very nice photos with the proper setup and lighting. With that said, your photos are way too blurry. You look like you're too close to the coin. Try moving it out a bit and then focus it in on the coin.
