I hadbeen doing all of pictures until now with an LG phone camera. It actually did well for me. I needed a "real" camera, because I was starting to do other products that were not working as well with the phone. I found a store that had a T5, which is last year's model. I got it for a fraction of the T6. I have been experimenting with it, and I am liking what I am seeing. I have a ways to go, but thus goes the learning curve.
I would love to hear your thoughts, about anything.
(Interesting to note, the proof Eagle appears to struck thorough a hair or something similar on the obverse about the T.)

No. This is a very rudimentary setup. I am actually holding the camera in my hands!! (please don't yell at me)

Very nice. Usingh a modern DSLR with 5X or 10X tethered live view, you can pretty much do anything in coin photography. Of course, you'll need some type of copy stand or microscope stand and computer connection.

After you have a valid coin imaging setup with a good macro or enlarger lens, I think lighting technique becomes the biggest factor in coin image quality.

So far it looks great the only thing I would change is to crop the pic a bit closer to the coin.

You're obviously a lot steadier than I am! Good job.

Are the pictures taken through plastic or of naked coins?

All raw. I plan to work on some slabs today to figure out that aspect. May do a GTG if they come out real nice.

Not too bad for doing shooting photos with just a steady hand. I do recommend getting some sort of tripod or mount for your camera. That will allow you to avoid and shake/movement when taking the photo. Also, remote shooting is a wonderful feature. You can adjust all settings through your computer without even touching the camera.

Once you get a good setup, lighting will be your next challenge. This will involve quite a bit of trial and error until you get desired results. Your walking liberty photo looks nice, but it's a bit dark. Having the proper lighting on that coin will make it pop. The Buffalo nickel also looks nice, but I can see where you were holding your camera in-hand resulted in the reverse being larger and much blurrier than the obverse. Once again, if you get the camera mounted, you won't have much a problem with that. Same thoughts on the silver eagle as the Buffalo nickel. You have the basics down already, it's just a matter of bringing everything together.
