I'd rather just have the $800 in cash.

If I had $800 i'd be $3 short to buy the Morgan. I would get some change on the Eagle. Buy a sandwich.
Definitely the second one.

Gold would hold its value better in a declining market, but I wouldn't pay that for any Details coin.

Between the two choices I would go for the gold. The seller having 100% feedback made me fall on that side of the fence.

Both coins are slabs so not much concern about authenticity either way. The gold is bullion and priced accordingly, with a slight premium for the o mint and relatively low survival. But that Morgan. Yes it's a key. But who is the buyer for a details coin at that price?

I wouldn't touch either.....that's why they are on ebay. Give me a lower graded, unmolested original coin any day of the week. FWIW,I would be looking for PCGS with a green bean at that price point.....way easier to liquidate should the need arise.
JMHO.

I've given up anything details. I really don't consider them, even for cheap prices.

There's just too much nice stuff to let that details stuff eat my lunch.

If I were to waste 800 on a details coin it would be the gold. The cleaning it received isn't as bad as that silver dollar.

If I had to buy one, it would definitely be the $10 gold piece.

If I had to choose for you, I say get the gold. However, I would pass on both, especially knowing that I could get two Seated dollars for my 7070 with that kind of money.

Compared to the price for the Morgan as a regular AU, the dealer is offering a rather limited discount.
