I have this 1982 hand collated mint set I put in two 6 hole Whitman holders.
I've been making use of empty plastic coin holders that have been laying around. So I thought this would be a good idea.
I didn't like the 1982 D cent I had in this, so I shopped around and am waiting on these with the new improved copper 82D shown below and found a couple mint medals to put in the dollar size holes.
I have seen the same large medals used in some "Souvenir Mint Sets"

I had the 82 & 83 souvenir sets at one time, but the coins are in my Dansco Albums now...
I have some of those set medals. Liked them, so I kept them in 2x2's... in a box somewhere...
Nice idea...

I had a pair of 83 and 82 sets too at one time but sold them at crazy high prices maybe 10 years ago.
They were in some other kind of envelope than the blue P&D souvenir ones, the cello was torn and taped on one of them. I think they had plastic medallions or the small P & D from proof sets and I am sure that they were made by some secondary marketer. They still probably got me close to a couple hundred bucks for both sets.
These coins here in my set were singles I had kept knowing that most 1982 singles have a premium.
These are all uncirculated and above average MS grades. The nickels are very nice too with good steps.
The 82 has always been the better of the two. I can't replace the cello or envelopes, so this is the best one can do.
Rest in Peace

Great idea and nice results. As I often warn folks, making mint sets with all the coins from a year can become preferable to the same denominations over and over in a set.

And, if you make many years of mint sets you'll have all the years for the single denominations displayed in "as minted" alternative.
