I've updated the title of the forum. It's been kind of a gray area.

If you see any topics that need moving please hit the note to staff link and let us know.
Rest in Peace

Thank you for that change. It will be nice to have all the commemorative threads under a single heading.

Hmm... I have not visited the US Commemoratives forum in a long time. I guess that will have to change.

I've been watching this recently as the ever-morphing Commemoratives forum is one of the forums I frequent. What was the driver behind combining?

I enjoy having more people to talk to in the forum, and have enjoyed the informative posts, but there are disparate collecting patterns in one forum now so it seems pretty random in there. One post is about grading of a Cleveland commemorative grading request and the next is about a 2017 ATB bullion puck that someone got in the mail.

In this forum we now have ATB pucks (both bullion and proof), modern commems, classic commems, proof sets, mint sets, special mint sets, Coin and Currency sets, Coin and Chronicles Sets, FDCCs, etc... and now grading of commemoratives. It seems like a catch-all.

Modern US coins and Classic/Colonial have a sub-forum for grading, why not this one? Not enough volume to warrant? Just wondering.

This. We did not always have grading or V/E sub-forums. Heck, once upon a time Modern and Classic were just one US forum.

Compare this...

To this...

Look at the date for "last post" at the bottom of each page, that should give you and idea regarding the volume of responses in each of those forums.

Yes, one day, maybe, we will have to make a split, but that time is not now.

Thanks for the reply, jbuck. Figured it was along those lines. It just seems... a disjointed forum now.

End result is now I'm probably going to be tempted to collect more!
