Thought this was pretty neat.

(If you can't read 6 year old, it says Wheat Pennies and Foreign Bills)

Looks sturdy with a nice latching lid and contents clearly labeled. Well done.
Rest in Peace

That's exceptional for a six year old. Hopefully their passion will continue. Thanks for sharing a happy moment.

When I was a kid I washed and scrubbed all my coins in alcohol and hydrogen peroxide and put them in one plastic bag. Your storage was much better than mine

I might be a little off on the age. Might of been more like 7 or 8.

Don't worry, I was guilty of that several times over.
RIP Cleaned wheat cents #1,2,3,4,5 and 6.

No longer are there wheat pennies in there, but there is still a pile of oldish foreign money in there.

Good thread.

Reminds me of two stories from my coin collecting as a young kid back in the 70's.

First one was the 'Coin Laundry'. As a kid we had a washer and dryer so I assumed everyone had one. So to me the store with the big 'Coin Laundry' sign was a place to take your coins and get them washed. Always wanted to go, never did.

Second one was my own 6 year old spelling, though maybe it was 8, who knows. Had an Ike in a 2x2 that I labeled an Eizenhower Dollar. Got a good laugh out of it about 4 years ago when I found my first coin collection.

Got less of a laugh out of some of the prices I paid for coins back then, but oh well. At least I didn't spend the money back then on girls and come down with a raging case of cooties. . . .

Brings back memories. Don't have my coin books from when I was a kid, but still have some stamps I was messing with about 50 years ago. Get a kick out of my handwriting from when I was 10 years old.
