Found 2 1969-D Lincoln cents with "floating roofs" today. Not worth anything but fun to find. Any ideas why 69's are more common to have this polishing problem than other dates?

I've tried to ask this question more than once. Continue to get the same response with it can happen any year, which is true.
That said, in my past research found that the years 1969 and 1970 make up for over 90% if not more, that show the full double sided floating roof effect. Thanks, Doug.
Why those years? Maybe something as simple as a pet leave of a certain die tech. Or what maybe also is the obverse dies had bold details in 68 that were modified in 69, could a specific frontal clash have caused the need for polishing those specific areas?

He was worried if he let his pet outside before he left for work? If you meant "peeve" I don't think he showed up at work saying "Gotta polish the 69 dies, gotta keep on polishing them dies" unless he Listened to the GODZ: If you remember this you are an old rocker roller - Gotta love it!!
Sorry, You tube changed me over to a copy band - but they are pretty good!!
Not many people have - WMMS (Cleveland radio station ) used to play this song to start of the weekend on Friday - Many moons ago - my back actually was good back then, I rode motocross (on a CR 250 Honda), played baseball, football and amature boxed in the Lorain county Golden Gloves - my Grand father was my manager - Had a great time - now I'm 58 and my back is so bad the Doctors give me pills to quit my ing! But I love collecting coins and learning about them everyday!! LOL!! I guess that auto program is very sensitive to words - I will say "crabbing" about how bad my back hurts!
