1883 VAM ID Help Requested

Recently received this 1883 and I think I have narrowed it down to either the 17, 39, or 45 (maybe 41). I am leaning towards the 45. Hopefully the pics are good enough:

Hello JJuliano, I am no expert as I have my own demons to deal with. I see the double on the date, I don't see the pitting on the face as in the 39 VAM example. To help see the scratches and gouges try to take the pics from an angle with a little light might help to attribute. Sorry not more help without coin in hand for me. Good Luck
