I for the life of me cannot figure out how to upload the photo... I came across a 1993 Lincoln Penny with "MD" above the date and it looks like it is outlined by the shape of a state but it does not look like Maryland to me. Does anyone have information about this, I tried doing some research and couldn't find anything.

That is an outline of the state of Maryland. A full set with all the state outlines was done years ago by an outside company. EDIT - and here is another thread with simular coins: http://goccf.com/t/262093

State of Maryland. No extra value. Worth 1 cent

I would actually have to disagree, ErrorsAndVarietys. Some people collect these & it would likely get at least $0.25 on ebay.

Still not that much money though. I don't collect these or like these. If I find one like this, I don't keep it. I spend it. With ebay fees, you would only get 0.23 cents. Overall, not worth selling on ebay. You wouldn't make much money at all. Sorry but in my opinion, still a spender.

I was reading on a different forum (yeah, I know I shouldn't do that) a guy buys these by the hundreds (2 cents apiece) from his LCD and spends them to see if he ever gets any back in change. So far he never has so people must pull them thinking they are worth something.

Wow. That's very funny Mark. And if the spender got the same one back in circulation, that would be very cool.

That would be fun, when we were in high school, used to paint obverse side of quarters red to see if we ever got them back - living in a small town we did get quite a few back!!

Mark, that's awesome that you got a lot of the same Quarters back in circulation that you painted in the front. A very clever idea!

Well we spent them in our schools lunch room so it just goes to show how many of them lunch lady's grabbed those Washington Quarters out of the deposit bag and went down the road to the "Big Town" store to buy stuff!!
