A die crack would cause a distinct line. I think its more likely a plating issue

Cents were not plated then. It is a lamination.

@JLC, first welcome to CCF. Second, that is a great coin that you have there. I agree with @John1 that it looks like a lamination. I don't know that it is worth tons of money, but it is definitely a keeper!

Thank you guys for your opinion, I really appreciate it. These are my first errors I've found. I've been digging through coins for about 5-6 years now.

Lamination error that happened after the strike. Nice find. A keeper for sure.

Actually, the lamination was there before a blank was even cut out of the strip. It's possible that later steps in the planchet creation/strike process "opened it up" a bit, and weathering might be a factor, but laminations themselves predate anything the Mint does to it.
