Late night auction win for $13. Fills a hole. Looks to me like upper VF, maybe cleaned based on the funky color..what says CCF? Seller pics cropped.

I have an XF40 in a NGC but can't bring myself to crack it out for the Dansco...yet.

It's a PITA when seller gives you 72 dpi photos at 400x, while apparently standing 10 feet away, but for 13 bucks, I can't expect much effort. Gambles like this usually go one of two ways: way better than the pictures, or way worse than the pictures, but never really seem to be "in the middle."

I'm thinking you'll find it has, um, interacted with the environment on a long-term basis and been, um, "recovered" from that experience.

But an 1871 for $13? I'll take 'em all for that money.

Most of you ended up calling it, my in hand grade is VF35 details / light porosity, but the color is somewhat more attractive in hand, a light brown instead of orange, even a bit lustrous in certain areas such as between the shield lines, which are remarkably well struck. It's already gotten a Verdi-Care soak.
