while going through some of the coins I have I stumbled across this 1935 s penny. it shows a lamination under liberty and on the reverse it has a severe lamination issue. I would like to know what is up with the "E" in cent and what, if any, value it may have. thank you for looking.

Very nice find and Lamination! For value, not sure, but I'll estimate maybe 7 dollars or more.

Your welcome! Since it's a 1935 S and it has a huge Lamination error, it commands a bigger premium. :)

I like the sound of that! this is the 2nd lamination penny in two days. I seem to have better luck with these than I do with DD's. (lol)Perhaps I'll take your earlier advise and just purchase a DD.

Tootallious, good idea, but be very careful on ebay because there are sellers out there selling supposed "Doubled Dies" when in fact, they are not. Here's a real Doubled die for you. Check these out. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2015-P-WDDR...OSwpHlZa~dv. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2004-P-Linc...AOSwSlBY1UJN.

As I've said previously, it's not very wise to waste your money on these errors, sorry, just cannot see any good reason to part with even $3 on a coin that will NEVER inflate in value. I love finding errors myself but will only purchase those that will retain value over the course of time, and those that are not generally found in circulation, particularly with the population of coins minted 1995 on...multi-Billions of coins, more durable dies means MANY more of the same error made.

I say collect and purchase what makes you happy as a collector. Do make sure, as E&V said, that you aren't being dooped by ebay listings that aren't actually doubled dies.

Personally, if I wanted to buy a Lincoln Cent DD, I would start with the 1995 DDO. It's completely visible to the naked eye and should be reasonably priced for a major doubled die.
