This is on a well known auction site. Been looking for a first bust of Charley (if I can afford it).
Anyone care to offer a grade? (apologies to seller if s/he's here).
Thanks.

I see the seller grades it as good fine/good very fine. I know grading is subjective so you may be interested to see the attached which was sold by London Coins (their grading is highly respected) last December for £240 and graded by them as good fine.

And another, also graded good fine by London Coins and sold by them in June last year for £170. Less eye appeal than the December coin, but still better preserved than the one shown in Stilboire's photos.

Fine would be about the most common grade that Charles 11 crowns would be found.
Just be very careful that you correctly identify the particular variety.

The coin pictured is of the First Bust type, which were only minted in the first year of mintage - 1662.
In good Fine condition, I would like to see at least some hair showing in the worn down flat image of Charles 11.

Prices of around 200 Pounds realized for the second coin pictured about par for the course.
Don't forget buyer's premium and shipping fees to be added.

Thank for the input everyone. I would have graded the one for sale as Fine only. This jives with the London Coin examples.
