Hey guys I've got a sealed 2010 Preservation of the union box set here. What do you think, keep it sealed? Or rip it open and search for those high grade 2010 pennies?

I'm not a fan of keeping anything sealed in "original" whatever if you can't see the coin(s). They're just normal 2010 cents that are Uncirculated, after all. Preservation of the Union = LSC Break it open!

I went ahead and opened it! If I stumble across any good finds what's the best way to preserve them? Are non pvc vinyl flips a good choice?

For me, the best way to preserve is an Air-Tite capsule (19mm size for cents). Beyond that, I now prefer cardboard and Mylar (which is BoPET [Biaxially-oriented polyethylene terephthalate]) 2x2's.
For flips, I wouldn't get any that say "nonplasticized PVC". While better than plasticized PVC, just avoid it altogether and get something like Saflips (there are other brands) that are made of PET.

I'm no chemist but, I think I avoided those because of the mismatch. They are "vinyl" flips but, contain no PVC.
Just in case, PVC means "polyvinyl chloride". I can only assume these are unplasticized PVC flips. If anyone has any more specific data on these, I would certainly like to read it!

Right, I'm starting to read more about it. A little confusing but I did find a link regarding the BCW brand flips you might find interesting. I went ahead and bought the air tite brand cases anyways as well, thanks for recommending those Here's the link regarding BCW flips: http://blog.bcwsupplies.com/vinyl/

I would avoid the flips all together regardless of what they are made from simply because the coin moves around in them and causes "rubs" 2x2's and Air-Tites for the better ones. John1

First, PVC is just one of many vinyl polymers. Second, non-plasticized PVC is a rigid solid, like typical PVC water pipe or the rigid toploader holders BCW sells. My guess is that "no PVC" vinyl flips would be made from something like polyethylene or polypropylene. However, after reading the link, I have no idea what they are doing and would probably avoid that product altogether.
