received this in change yesterday and it looks like tripling.is there such a thing as MD Tripling? there a only 2 pictures as my USB microscope software crashed. I will try to fix the issue and post more as soon as I can!

I suppose a minting machine could "jump" twice on a strike. Your quarter is pretty cool looking - good find.

Those are incuse devices raised on the die,any die movement make's them distorted.

Great information! I figured that it was MD. It was a few of the images that made me question if there is such a thing as (Machine Tripling)? It looks pretty cool and it has already been put into a 2x2. Thank you all for your helpful and knowledgable opinions and advice! : > )

They are definitely fun to hold onto, I have seen other examples that do show tripling on the devices although they are all incuse, and need to tilt the coin at the right angle to get the best effect.

Oops, my mistake Chase. I looked at the first picture that the OP posted and saw tripling. Then I saw the second picture and it had only one MD strike.
