I drove today a three hour round trip to pick up a bag of 2,000 wheaties from a so called son of father who died, blah blah blah. When I opened the bank bag, I was so disappointed to see like 20-25% of them just destroyed in one shape or fashion. Well, I thought it would only take one to make it worth it. And I drove so far. Put up the $60.00 and took off with the bag. Separated destroyed coins for two hours. This is the 4th coin I pulled out and put under the microscope! I almost threw it in the forget it pile! I have never seen this before. I am new to this though. This coin has an edge offset on the front from 11 o'clock to 4 o'clock. But check this out!! Look at the bottom of the reverse side edge from 2 o'clock to 8 o'clock!! Booo yah!! Well, I think! Any ideas anyone? Looks to be the same as the wheat top pattern!

I watched the short video but, can you post pics here of suspect areas? That would help very much with responses.

was the only way to get a crisp screen cap. I found a new way now. \i can change it. What is with the edge\/ it has 6-8 lines going around it.
Rest in Peace

Looks like it might have been an Encased Cent at some point.

Looks like lathe lines for some reason but PMD lathe lines - NOT an error from the mint.

I agree with the idea of it being encased. The outside edge around the coin has been altered and the marks could just be from the encasement.

The mint did not engrave dies with this circular pattern you are seeing.

It looks altered to me and at one time encased. Then someone took it out of the encasement and that's what the circular damage is. PMD and not a Mint error by any means.
Errers and Varietys.
