Hello, I am Bob from Michigan. I stumble on this forum looking for information into a coin my father found as a kid around 1950 in his yard and kept it in a safe. Any help on this would be much appreciated!!
Thanks

In the future, try crop your images to reduce the blank space around the coin. Here is CCF Free Image Optimizer to help crop your images

I moved your post to the appropriate section for the proper attention.

Rest in Peace

My first impression is/a contemporary fake of a Spanish coin like a Reales

After looking couldn't find it here's similar, may be Portugese as well, looks like a fantasy "Pirate's Coin" we had as kids(I'm dat olt!)

That was my first impression as well. However, I know very little about it. There are others here with way more knowledge on the subject who will hopefully comment.

And... to CCF!

It's a replica of a Peruvian 8 reales coin from 1740, this type: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces47978.html

I don't know if yours is a modern or contemporary fake, but it's more neatly struck than the original so probably a somewhat modern fake.
