@darththorn, first welcome to CCF. Second, that looks like a coin worth tens of thousands of dollars to me (if real). If it seems too good to be true...

Take a look at the top curl of the number 2 in the denomination on the rev of a real coin and then compare it to yours. I'm sure that there are other discrepancies between this fake and the real thing, but that is what jumps out at me. That said, I'm really glad that you are asking these questions rather than just jumping on this.

I agree on the 2 And the 5 of the 25 doesn't have the little "ball" on the end of it. Plus the 27 in the date is pretty bad - unless there is a variety of the original curl base 2, then this is just a fake. Actually the whole date is wrong.

Cannot determine anything. Not an expert on this series. 1827 is not a regular issue year only in proof.

Rather than write some long-winded explanation of the dozens of indicators, I'll just mention the one which immediately stopped me in my tracks - the denticles. They're downright goofy.

I agree the denticles are a dead give away. That is what I noticed as soon as I saw it.
