Susan, lim118, Bigfella, rggoodie we must somehow get some rules and regulations set up before this set hits the road so to speak. The value is NOT what it could have been so the insurance threat is not really a concern any longer. We have to make an effort to see that everyone involved understands how long they can keep the set which really will amount to two to three weeks with mailing time and that each and everyone SIGN the card, name, date and country? Somehow I would like to see a "sticky" telling where the coins are at, how many miles they have traveled (total), countries they have visited and members visited. This should be a blast so I hope it works for a long long time! Any comments at this time?

I don't want to be a spoilsport but can't help asking myself; how will you handle trust issues. I mean, how do we know that anyone wont keep the set for himself :) any kind of deposit for insurance purposes or sth like that in mind?

I will start a new topic for the discussion of the rules. Sign-ups should still be posted to this thread with the other thread strictly for rule set-up. Rules Discussion Thread

RenaL, There are many of us with contacts in a great number of countries around the world. And living in this world of mass and fast communication I wouldn't want to be the individual who decides to keep this set! First of all the coins involved are not worth ruining a good name over. All are readily available from dealers or ebay every day of the week. The whole idea is to share our world of coin collecting with other collectors throughout the world. Just to be a part of this undertaking should be an honor as the set travels the world and quite honestly, over time, it will probably gain a little fame! The whole idea is as old as time itself and based on the HONOR system and trust. Surely we as people and coin collectors who share common ideals and a common hobby can fulfill one simple obligation to the coin collecting community here by simply enjoying the opportunity to see and hold a small part of this forum for a few weeks and then pass on that honor to another collector. It amounts to nothing more than good people doing a good thing WITH one another over a long period of time! Our goal is simple, keep the chain going and the bond strong!

Back to page one as the set nears completion and the first leg of its journey to MOM and DAD. Shouldn't be too long now and I will keep everyone posted! WE still need a CARD to go with the set? If I don't get a volunteer to make one up or to go out and find something appropriate, I will do it myself!! Waiting on the last two coins to arrive and should spray the holder within days now! This is going to be an absolute ball keeping track of who the recipient(s) are each month and the total miles traveled by this set of coins!
I might add the holder is ONE OF A KIND so you won't find this at Wally World!!! Hopefully Susan will post a photo as soon as it gets to her!

Still waiting for the final coin to arrive from Australia then the set will be sealed and sent on to Susan and the first drawing. Can't hardly wait for this journey to begin but must admit I am going to miss admiring this unique set sitting on my entertainment center! Just a few more days and the journey will begin!

Proud to announce the coins have all arrived and the set is being sealed at this very moment. Should be on its way to Susan by Monday. I do hope some day I get to see this set again!

The package has been sealed with a note inside for everyone to sign when they host our set for a few weeks. The set will fit in an 8 1/2 X 11 Bubble Mailer but would advise to buy an "extreme" or "heavy" duty mailer just in case! It has been an honor to be a part of this endeavor and I thank each and every one of you for granting me the opportunity to build the custom holder for this set. I do hope it will be worthy of a journey of a million miles! Susan, its headed your way Monday! T-minus one day and counting! Susan, I am also mailing a gift for the first recipient of the set which I would like for you to forward to the lucky first drawn! A special airtite holder which simply states "United States Quarter" with an uncirculated "Indiana" Statehood Quarter to designate the starting point of the set! Hope you don't mind!

Please put me on the list . But I cant be eligable from april 1 through october 31. as that is when I must work for my bread . I am willing to add to the collection if and when it arrives, and a gift to the next holder is no problem. Would adding a local community trade token be admissable?(chamber of commerce) Just thought it might add to the flavor. Any thoughts? coggie(Jeff
