i found this 1969D Lincoln Cent which it looks like it has a K over the I on the word IN ...what the experts see ?

Could also be metal pushed up from being hit by the fingers from the roll crimping machine. Have seen this many times but usually on the date. So yes, PMD like Crazybo stated..

Could be something up with the die as well; I certainly don't see enough missing metal on the "I" to account for what has been "pushed away" from it.

On the left side of the 'I', it look like part of a lamination to me. (from what I can see)
