I recently got this medal with some coins it appears to be a saint Benedicts medal, however I haven't been able to identify what year or what kind it is if that makes sense.. all other examples I've seen have writing next to the figure and the cross isn't flat at the ends I appreciate any information that can be given to help better identifying it, thank you -DAJ

It does look like a St. Benedict medal but, I think it may be a more modern copy. Things don't quite add up.

The Jubilee medals were struck in 1880 but, the originals seem to have been in use since they were approved by Pope Benedict XIV in 1741. I dont know anything about any of this. Hopefully, someone will come along to help.



Edit: the original design is different and yours looks like a take on the Jubilee medal. There should be a date in Roman numerals below Benedict's figure. I'm not seeing it on yours. Again...
