These are getting harder to find for the same reason they are so rare. Nobody wants to pay money for them now or then. After the very late Roman, Vandal, and Carthaginian super small coinage stopped, nobody wanted them. They were too small. Most were either chucked or corroded to dust.
I mine all I can find. They are hard to clean and most cannot be identified. Here are couple of my latest good finds. The large coin is a Greek Pamphylia, Side SNG Cop 408, BMC 66, at a huge 14mm just for comparison. The smallest is the reverse of Maurice Tiberius, Carthage, SB 572b, and this is why I do it- the last one is the reverse of a Zenonis RIC X 1017 Monogram Type 1. A super small 9mm and 0.8 grams. Woot!
