I received a card from the RCM today (Sept. 27) The card read: "THANK YOU FOR BEING A GREAT CUSTOMER SPEND $175 OR MORE AND RECEIVE $25 OFF YOUR ORDER OFFER EXPIRES SEPTEMBER 24, 2017" Do you see a problem here? ;-o

Did you check the front porch to see if they also sent a time machine?

Good to know the Canadian Post Office is as efficient as the US Post Office!

$175 would only buy 2% of all of this year's RCM production, so the $25 off wouldn't draw an order from me even if I could actually use that discount.

I got a different coupon - $100 off $750 purchase. But got the offer through email as well as snail mail. The one through snail mail came 1 week after the email offer.

Funny, the two coupons I've heard of - $25 - but you have to spend 7 times that to get the discount. OR $100 but you have to spend 7-1/2 times that to get the discount.
In this instance, the $25 coupons are actually better than the $100.

Quote: In this instance, the $25 coupons are actually better than the $100. Well, it depends on how much you spend. The further you get from $100 the less value of the coupon. For example, if you spend $100, you get $25 off which is a 25% discount. If you spend $200, the percentage off is 12.5%. spend $300, % off is 8.3% off and so on. The $100 coupon is great if you are going to spend money on a high ticket coin or coins in the $700-$800 range. Obviously a $25 off $100 coupon off is useless for expensive coins. But again, the more you spend the less the bang for your buck.

The way I read it... You MUST first spend the money ($175 or 750) before the coupon will be honoured. So, it's never worth '25% of your purchase' because you couldn't use it, if you only spent $100.

@dcadon, sorry about my mistake. I meant to say $25 off purchase of $175 which certainly is not a 25% discount. Its more like a 14% discount.
But the fact remains the further you are away from the base amount of $175 the smaller the discount. So if you spend $500 the discount is like .5%. Not worth it at all.
Best to use the $100 off $750 coupon if you get one if you plan to spend a lot of money on coins.
