to the forum front/back with lines drawn. Please. A Rot5ated reverse is not a High $ error, unless in pristine grade maybe. A full 180 out may be but anything under @120 degree is not unusual. Can't remember what the tolerances are, 30%? This isn't a really big mint error, happens very often so is really no big deal or market for them. That said, check ebay for pricing, you get what some fools, er, patrons will pay for. Errors like this are an "eye of the beholder" prize, I for one am not.

I agree that it's not a high value error but people do collect them and people do buy them. Like Crazyb0 posted, the condition of the coin will greatly affect the price. If it's all scratched up, it really won't be worth much, but you might like to keep it if it's your first error coin find.

Ever25, You should have added the images to this thread. Quote: From Ever25 Okay guys I got the pics now I have added another 72d to illustrate what I'm saying first pic both pennies are heads facing the same direction.. Now when I flip both to the same side to the reverse that's where you will see the rotation erorr facing towards 9 o'clock

I think there is a 'slight' market for these. They are a bit more rare than these fellas are implying. I see them going on the Bay for about $4-5. Which ain't much but it's something.
Wheat pennies (especially key and semi-key dates) are worth substantially more. And as Crazybo said, full 180 degree ones are also worth much more.
It's always worth what someone is willing to pay!
EDIT: Nice find by the way. This error is always eye catching to me. Mainly due to the surprise of being misaligned.

Excellent find! I haven't found anything with a rotation even close to that. It's a keeper for sure and definitely worth a premium over face value.

That's a really nice find. As others have noted rotation errors have little market value as few collect them, but a cent worth five bucks is still a nice premium. You may just want to put that one in your collection as a rare coin error and be happy to own such a cool coin.

Nows the fun part, finding out what causes a rotated die! If you find out how many "magic keyways" they used in 1972, please let me know, curious to find out...?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but even magician coins garner a premium too, don't they?
Win/win. Great first error find for sure.
