Nice big die chip on this 2007 LMC between the first and second column on the Lincoln Memorial. These particular die chips are also know as a "hornets nest" as they seem to hang from the top of the columns although I've seen where they sometimes are called bee hives. A few pictures then into it's new home!! *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

That is a pretty cool find! I have never heard of those before now. Is there any added value? Or is it more of a " cool, I think I'll keep it coin "?

Hey Toots, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder buyer". Someone may be interested in purchasing, but I really don't foresee in my crystal ball any long term skyrocketing value based interest. Error coins are really a Numismatic fad, fun yes, but think it's more a personal thing. Is for me, thrill of the hunt, finally finding that one example, or finding a new one. Think error nuts need to network together, trade/swap finds with each other. Just like any other numismatic arena.

That's a very nice "Hornets Nest" Die Chip! If I found this, I would be very excited.

I enjoy seeing/finding these types of mint errors/anomalies.

They might need a bit more than an exterminator this time. (In this drawing, the nest is 14.5 feet by 8 feet)

Nice find Mark. that is a nice drawing RoyCoinBoy. Here's another drawing for nickel fans. I would estimate this Beehive to be about 4'x 2'.
