The only doubled die Wheat penny I have found. Not the greatest condition but hey, I still keep it. Might take a nice little acitone bath

I need close ups to see the doubling. Is the color true? Looks kinda pinkish.

Nice. If you are going to keep it, shine it up! I ruined a few coins a while back messing around. But I did an experiment. I did 15-20% muratic acid, 80-85% vinegar. Touch of salt.... 15-30 seconds in that. Then water dip it. Then baking soda paste, pretty watered down. gently rub with a fine cotton or whatever cloth you think. Those suckers shine like you wont believe! However, you eliminate any value it once had, as you all know. But consult your experts. I don't clean anything anymore unless it has goop on it. Then I use acetone only.

Hahaha if today is April fools day then tomorrow is my birthday. But yeah I won't be using any muratic acid on my coins, that's for sure. Just some good ole acitone from the hardware store. Someone else said to put it in something else after the acitone but I forgot what that something was.. I think I may just used water instead of that something.
Rest in Peace

If you go to rinsing, use distilled water. Tap or even filtered has deposits in in to leave a residue that could affect later down the road.

Never use anything but acetone or Verdi-Care on copper in my opinion. This problem probably has too many issues to merit much time on in any event.

I'm actually not sold on the doubling. The pics are out of focus badly, and it's hard to see. I own an example of this variety, and the doubling on mine seems much stronger than this coin. Maybe circulation wear? The coin seems rather beat. (Hint: I could be very wrong here!)
