Does anyone have information on the upcoming release of the 3rd coin in the series?

Speculations and assumptions only:If the RCM is really lazy, and prefer not to spend extra: the 1967 The Goose will be issued in 2oz format, selectively gold-plated. But adding bit more thought, the next Silver Dollar could be: 1997 Loonie Anniversary remake in 2oz format, selectively gold-plated. **the image taken from popular online marketplace

Based on what I am seeing on ebay, the next remastered coin will not be released in November. This is just a guess.

Should be plenty to go around. I heard a mintage of 4,000 this time.

Release date is scheduled for October 31st. Theme: Commemorative Royal Visit - Parliament Building. Coin features the 1939 commemorative silver dollar celebrating the royal visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth - the first visit to Canada by a reigning monarch.

That's odd, it would be doubled dated 1939-2017

Looks like 31st (ty @blastoff) should be the day RCM lets the cat out of the bag. They have kept the info on this release pretty close to the vest. 4000 is a high number if that is correct, thanks @rjlavoie . Looking forward to some images, please post them here if/when you have them. Thanks all.

I guess, RCM can put double date as per their decision. So will not surprise, if the date will appear 1937 - 2017, to be more "round", and without actual reference to the Royal visit. But the design (like a 1939 SD) will give the reference. Upping mintage to 4000 to sell more, I think, the coin still will appeal to people to be sold-out. But assuming, that not few collectors, who purchased previous editions, will pass over this coin, since it "not rare anymore".

If the mintage is 4,000 that's almost double the first coin. I'll still buy it to keep the collection complete but that's a serious increase in mintage.
This could possibly drive the first coin price up more or allow it to keep its lofty appreciation. I like the Parliament building design. Should look nice with the gold plating (I'm assuming from first 2 coins).

If the mintage is 4000, that means lower tier MC Members will get an opportunity to own a Renewed Silver Dollar. You no longer need to be Platinum Prestige or Platinum Plus member to get a crack at the coin. On the flip side, more mintage will mean less re-sale value of the coin. You can likely buy it for issue price or less on ebay in a couple of months or sooner.

I have to disagree with you MoneyPenny, I think this coin will do well despite the increase in mintage. Classic silver dollars are always popular among collectors and its the first time the coin has been done with gold-plating and in a 2oz format. Also, the 50-cent renewed coin from last year had a mintage of 4000 and they are all over issue on ebay, none are below or at issue price. The same goes for the other 2 renewed silver dollars, they are difficult to be had at issue price.

Not if you double the mintage in this market, no one cares

You both correct.
The Library and The 50 cent coins are appreciated. A bit. Being second and third (first in new series?) they keep the momentum of the Voyageur.
But this 'momentum' vanishes with each of new issues, specially, when the new coin is more accessible. Each and every series with 1-st coin "doing exceptionally well" proves it.
My thought - coin will be sold out. Many of them will be bought for resale. And it will be valued as "issue price" more or less. 2013 Glass Butterfly - comes to my mind as example.
Added: Just looked at the current sold items. The Library sold in September and August - prices CAD 220 and CAD 215. The 50 cents coin sold in August - CAD 185 . All CAD 300+ or 400+ asking prices do not show real picture.
So now very clear, where it goes.

Just to add a wrinkle, if the RCM sells it without limit of 1, it will likely sell out quicker but ebay will be flooded (reducing resale price). If it's sold with an truly enforced limit of 1 and 4k units, IMO it might make it out of MC to general release but will be sold out soon after. Let's just hope the RCM doesn't mess up this release like they did with last renewed SD. Has anyone been offered an opportunity to reserve from their rep yet? Any pictures surfaced anywhere?
