Kushano-Sassanians---Peroz-I-Kushanshah-7/19

The Kushanshahs were quasi-independent kings who pushed deep into Kushan territory in the 3rd-4th centuries AD, securing critical pathways for the ever-important Silk Road. Only 7 are known to have ruled during a period stretching from 230-350, after which the area was overrun by Kidarite Huns. Very little is known about any of these kings.

I remember that one - very nice! I had been wanting one of these coins for a while, so I was pretty excited to get one as bycatch for the Nezak coins I was after in the lot. I was very surprised how these coins are struck in very deep relief - almost like a Greek coin.
