a long scratch on the middle of his head the letters t on the word united is not the same as the t on states letter a on all the word has hook error?

It looks like an S mint mark to me....

The scratch on the head is damage.

The T in STATES looks normal but it does seem to have a tiny die crack going to the A. There's no pic of the UNITED so I'll just take your word that it's different.

Die crack between lower serifs of AT, Scratch is a coin wrapper machine and the MM has a hit on vertical bar forcing metal to move to right.

The reason the mint mark is filled is because the post that would form the center of the mint mark has broken off the die. It even removed part of the base of the post. Thus the filled area is above the mint mark.

The die is showing its age. Note how the devices are starting to flow/connect together on the outside devices. A spendable coin.
