I got this coin in my change the other day and was wondering what people think.

With the copper nickel core in the shape that it is, you were very lucky to find the coin. It should have long since fallen out.

Somewhat of a mystery that it managed to get as far as the coining press before falling apart. The pressure of the coining press must have helped fuse it together for some time.

Impossible to ascribe a value to it.
The best way to finding a value would to be put it up for public auction, unless that has already happened with similar errors.

Thanks for your feedback the middle pushes back in perfect and isn't easy to push back out. It's certainly a unique find I've searched the internet trying to find another but haven't seen anything else like it.

Yeah it actually pushes back in and stays in place you have to push quite hard for it to come out.

There are plenty of fake errors on ebay so its cool to see a real one. Could be worth a bit.

I know I feel very lucky to have found this. I can't believe it's been around for 20 years and no one has picked up on how special the coin is. It's funny because I actually didn't at first I put it in a fruit machine luckily it was one that didn't accept 2pound coins so It came straight back out and that's when I noticed the error. I nearly wasted it.
