But I can't sell it for $100 on ebay... Why was this coin given such a high value, what am I missing?

There is the 42-P 42 over 41 and the 42-D 42 over 41 that are pretty high priced dimes but your is neither. That's probably why. I think a 42-P in Fine condition is about a few dollars - that's why you can't sell for $100

I think they added a zero. $7.91 is close to value...

The 791.20 is not the price, it's the item stock code. Coin type #791, in grade 20.

Honest mistake about the value, I guess.

You don't have enough posts (250 required) to sell on the forum but, you can link your ebay seller account at 100 posts. Go to "Tools" and "Manage your Profile" to link your ebay account. Then, your active listings will be shown in your profile page. Keep in mind, this is only allowed after you have 100 quality posts.

Stick around and enjoy the knowledge and eye candy!

And...

Those Littleton packages cause a LOT of headaches for dealers. You wouldn't believe the number of people that bring those things in convinced that that stock number is the value of the coin and they get all upset when they get offered a tiny fraction of that "value". They are SURE the dealer is trying to rip them off because "the value is printed on it right there!"

Welcome to the forum, sadly that is just a regular Mercury dime, but keep an eye out for the 1942/1.
