To the forum!

Not the right terminology. Stick around, we'll "learn ya gooder" as my idiot son-in-law would say. It's not a Doubled Die ( DDO / DDR)nor an Repunched Mintmark (RPM). Notice the lettering near the rim, shows this was a Late Die State with die flow(metals moves outward) and the become wider as the dies are polished more.

Your last LWC, who cares what the date is, won't be going in your collection now will it? It does look like a 1948P with a whole lot of "Road Rash" damage.

I'm extremely new to this! So thank you, I plan on sticking around for sure! And the second one is the oldest penny I have found so far, so I got a little excited with it haha

I am kind of thinking 1945 for the last one.

Nothing wrong with that! Too bad about all the damage on it.

Please do post anything interesting or that you have questions about.

Edit: my first thought was 1945 as well.

We can all agree that the 2nd one is nineteen-forty-something.
I was honestly thinking 1940.
Rest in Peace

To CCF , No D/D on the 55 , as for your second one that's what we call Road Kill .
Keep searching and your bound to find something nice .

That second one is almost certainly from the '40s, but the last digit seems too badly smashed to read with certainty.
